THE LEARNING CURVE Spring 2012 VISUAL ART & WRITING WORKSHOPS

The Art of Photo Composition

Learn to improve the basic composition of your photographs without getting too wrapped up in all the technical details of camera function. We will leave our cameras on automatic or program mode for this class and really concentrate on how to create a solid composition. Learn the difference between “taking” a photograph and “making”a photograph. Learn to use simple but effective techniques such as: framing, scale, asymmetrical balance, patterns, point of view, reflections, the “rule of thirds” and more, to quickly and dramatically improve your photographs no matter what kind of camera you use!

When: Mondays, Jan 16 and 23, 9:30am-12:30pm
Where: Renfrow/Nash Studio, 1102 W. Huron St. (driving directions provided upon registration)
Cost: $69 (2 sessions)

Instructor: Robert Renfrow attended the Kansas City Art Institute graduating Salutatorian with a B.F.A. in Photography/Video.
