THE LEARNING CURVE Spring 2012 VISUAL ART & WRITING WORKSHOPS

Intro to Digital Photography

Digital cameras are deceptive. Taking snapshots is a snap, but creating quality digital images is a pain in the mouse. In this three-part beginner’s workshop, participants learn to use their digital still cameras to make and produce photos that have substance and style. Get to know your camera and manual in Part 1: Camera and Photography Fundamentals, then learn to transfer digital photos and improve them using software in Part 2: Computers and Software for Photographers. In Part 3: Beyond the Elements for Digital Images, you will use Adobe Photoshop Elements to edit and enhance your digital photos. Please bring your camera, manual, batteries, charger, cables, memory card, and photo prints or CDs for Part 1 (plus pen and paper for notes), and your laptop computer if you own one (Mac or Windows) for Parts 2 and 3.
