Join Tucson favorite Bob Bernhardt for the inside scoop on music’s leaders and followers during the Baroque period. Learn about the lives and works of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries including Telemann, Handel, Pachelbel, Albinoni, Vivaldi and others. This remarkable group of innovative composers took music to the next level as they created new musical forms, adopted more inclusive instrumentation and harnessed the power of music to convey important messages. Find out who influenced whom and listen to Bob’s playlist of ‘greatest hits’ of the first half of the 18th Century. You’ll come away with a new appreciation for this incredible period of musical history.

Instructor:Bob Bernhardt, a frequent guest conductor for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, is in his sixteenth season as Music Director and Conductor for the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera and serves as Principal Pops Conductor of the Louisville Orchestra.
