Michael Bogan

Michael Bogan, PhD., Assistant Professor of Aquatic Ecology at the University of Arizona School of Natural Resources and the Environment. He uses both his camera lens and his research to change the way we think about aquatic and riparian ecosystems. Michael has dedicated his career to understanding how aquatic species cope with dramatic cycles of flooding and drought. His current research projects range from assessing the ecological benefits of restoring flow in urban rivers to continental-scale studies of the effects of stream drying on aquatic biodiversity. Michael has studied southern Arizona streams, and their fascinating inhabitants, since 2003.
