If you’ve taken the Speaking Up and Writing Down workshops before (anyone who has worked with me) and wish to continue where you left off, or if you’ve been writing creative non-fiction (essays, memoir, etc) and are looking for new insights to your writing process, join us.

Through various writing techniques (natural writing, vignettes, prompts, poetry, letters, songs, reportage and more), we’ll explore the unlimited possibilities of “voice” in our work, looking for the largest and most engaging narrator. We’ll experiment with a variety of narrative forms, mixing them up to create the most expressive language for telling our stories. We’ll exercise our sense memories to bring more richness and depth to our writing. We’ll practice myriad ways of letting memory — which is never the absolute truth — mingle with the present and transform the future of our work. Whether you’re putting together family stories for the clan, or seeking to publish your essays or memoirs, or writing for your own enlightenment, these workshops will allow you to be regularly heard and responded to in a safe, constructive environment. Please join me in getting out of our heads, onto the page, and into a larger life!
