Explore the archaeology and history of Japan and Korea from the early paleolithic era up through modern colonial interactions, including the occupation and annexation of Korea by Japan at the end of the Joseon Dynasty. Consider cultural developments in the two countries and look at the major historic periods such as the Three Kingdoms period in Korea, the Kamakura period in Japan, and the Meiji Restoration. An overview of modern Korea and Japan with an eye towards tourism, travel, and culinary exploration will include discussions of cuisine, travel tips, and recommended destinations.
